50th Friday
The Licking County Commissioners recently issued a proclamation about our 50th year. As we prepare to wind down the year of celebration, we thank them for acknowledging our vital role in Licking County.

We had our largest group ever of seniors who participated in our Work Based Learning program options this past year. Proud of them all. Getting real world experience, and earning money at the same time! #awesome #skillsmatter

We had a great event at Johnstown Middle School in May, our Construction Day, hosted with Robertson Construction. We led 4 of these last year across the county this past school year and will be adding more in the upcoming year. #skillsmatter

Before summer break, Heath City Schools superintendent Dr. Trevor Thomas came in to share about his career in our Career Connections class at Heath Middle School. Students were given different scenarios and had to decide what they would do as superintendent. Some situations included calling snow days and adding teachers.

Now Hiring!

Congrats to these students who had perfect attendance this past year. A notable achievement and a great soft skill. Well done all.
(A few are missing because they were out at their job sites that day, and 1 was at her graduation ceremony. :) )

Love looking at this picture from the Construction Technology lab this past year. So much happening all at once. #skillsmatter

This past year in Medical Assisting this young lady was demonstrating understanding of the heart for her peers. Peer to peer instruction is a great way to demonstrate understanding!

A job opening at our Secondary Center.

Congrats to Zoe Richeimer-Lee on making it to finals in the Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling event at DECA’s National Conference. Zoe took our Business class at Granville High School.
She earned a silver medal (top 10%) on her case study and finished in the top 20 in her category nationally.

Busy busy is the theme all the time in our awesome high school Electrical Trades program. They have only been gone a few days so far this summer and we already miss the activity. #skillsmatter

This May our Culinary Arts students travelled to Anderson Farms in Granville – owned by James Anderson of Ray Ray's Hog Pit and BBQ fame. He and farm manager Pat gave our kids a tour of the farm, discussed hog breeding and feeding for the most delicious culinary outcome, talked about his home cured charcuterie, gave a demo on smoking brisket, and fed the students well. It was a great and full day, and we are very appreciative of his allowing our students this amazing learning experience.
