Cool story out of our Criminal Justice program. An armed service widow named Rita Ross received her husband’s flag at his funeral, per usual practice. Since his passing it has started to unfold. She contacted us to see if the Criminal Justice students would be able to refold her flag so that she can put it in a memory box. Our seniors performed the refolding ceremony for her.
Giving back to the community, and respecting those who have served our nation. What a lovely thing to witness.

We are happy to report that 22 Licking Heights students in our satellite STNA program successfully completed the clinical component of our program. We are very proud of them for providing quality and compassionate care to the residents of Tuscany Gardens.

Our Healthcare programs have been busy, across the district. Our secondary Physical Therapy and Medical Assisting students recently visited COTC, and our postsecondary evening Medical Coding class has been hard at work with instructor Christina Eskins-Davis.

Career Connections at Licking Heights Middle School is working on their Engineering and Science Technologies Career Cluster. In one lesson they learned about career options and education levels required at Covestro! It was a hands-on experience for students! It included an air flow activity, color matching and lighting activity, and how light bounces and creates new perceptions which involves clear glassware and vegetable oil.
Pretty neat stuff!

Some of our ITEC students are working at Licking Memorial Health Systems -2000 Tamarack. They are placed in Culinary, Environmental Services, and Human Resources. Caught a few pics of them hard at work.
