Adults seeking to up-skill or re-skill into high-demand, high-wage careers can now get help with paying for their training at C-TEC’s Postsecondary Center.
C-TEC just announced the third year of a partnership with the Ohio Department of Higher Education to provide grant funding of up to $4,000 per student in training programs that are less than a year. Grants are awarded based on need to those under and unemployed who are seeking to gain a new or upgraded skill quickly. Students do not have to fill out the FAFSA to qualify. Funds can be used to cover the cost of tuition and fees, potentially paying for the entire certificate program.
The short-term certificate programs offered at C-TEC’s Postsecondary Center are industry-focused and designed to prepare adults for work immediately. In addition, students can use this funding to jump start their training by continuing their education in one of C-TEC’s full-time training programs for adults. The application is open now, and awards are applied to enrollment dates through June 30, 2025, or until funding is exhausted. Each eligible adult student can receive one award, up to $4,000, per fiscal year to cover their training program. Training programs are open to adults with a high school diploma, or equivalent.
