We are excited to share the results of the first Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) cohort in our Postsecondary Center!
We started this pilot class with 12 students. We retained all 12 students through the duration of the program, and all 12 students passed the course this spring and were eligible to sit for the EFDA Dental Board exam!
The students took their board exams, and ALL 12 students passed the written portion of the exam, and ALL 12 students passed the clinical portion.
Dr. Tim Hottel (the dentist that serves as administrator of the EFDA boards for the state of Ohio) was VERY impressed with our results, especially for a pilot class! He even shared that the results of the written test were some of the best they had ever seen! In fact, he was so impressed that he extended an offer to our program coordinator, Kris Hall, to join the board as an EFDA exam reviewer.
Well done to all the students and staff who made this pilot program a success!
