Facilities:

The C-TEC Postsecondary Center is made up of approximately 100,000 square feet of classrooms, laboratories, and administrative and student services offices.  The local community approved a $35,000,000 bond issue in August 2002 to support the new construction and renovation of the existing facility. 

The total campus, now completed, showcases leading-edge technology in an inviting, naturally lit atmosphere, and accessibility for persons with disabilities.  C-TEC’s facilities follow ADA recommendations for accessibility.

Services:

C-TEC provides student support services for all students, regardless of disability status.  These services include career counseling, study skills and test-taking skills, textbook reading tips, reducing test anxiety, employability skills, and referrals to community resources.

Students who have documented disabilities and who are approved for testing accommodations may be eligible for accommodations when taking industry credentialing or licensure exams.  See program coordinator or testing center coordinator for more information.

Disabilities and Admission:

All students, regardless of disability, must meet program assessment and pre-requisites prior to admission, such as attainment of a high school diploma, Work Keys minimum cut scores and other program requirements.

If a student requests accommodations due to a disability, a written request with supporting documentation must be submitted to C-TEC’s Assessment Center at least two weeks prior to the scheduled assessment but no later than the program start date.

Students with documented disabilities may be accommodated on the basis of a high school Individual Education Plan (IEP), provided the high school IEP was completed within three years of the student’s registration date. After three years, students who request accommodations must provide a new evaluation, at the student’s expense, that documents the disability and the specific accommodations needed.  

The disability documentation must have been completed by a healthcare professional who is licensed to diagnose the disabling condition.  The assessment center coordinator will notify the student of C-TEC’s decision to provide accommodations.  Students who are denied accommodations may submit a written appeal to the director within 15 school days of the denial.  A response from the Director will be given within fifteen school days.
