Firefighting & Emergency Medical Services (FMS)

Put safety into action. In this program, students in the junior year learn the fundamentals of firefighting and emergency medical services, with a public safety core.  The senior year focuses on Ohio’s 240-hour Level II Professional Firefighter certification program and the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-B certification program. Upon completion of the program, students have the potential to be hired as a firefighter and EMT at the basic level.

Program Specifics

The Firefighting/Emergency Medical Services program is for the student who is focused, mature, and wanting to get a head start in the firefighting and/or emergency medical services career area. Biology strongly recommended. Dual enrollment courses are available through Central Ohio Technical College. Students must meet COTC dual enrollment criteria to receive credit. Students must be 17 years old by the first day of their senior year for this program.
