Green Thumb Workshop Series
Explore the wonderful world of horticulture. Join us the fourth Monday of each month (no classes Jan, June & July. Sept &Nov class is on Tuesday.) from 7–8:30 p.m. You’ll leave each class with knowledge, tips, techniques and plants. Deadline for registration is one week prior to each workshop date.

Feb 22 Houseplants 101 PL9495C
Discover what plants do best in your house. Bring in your favorite, root-bound house guest, as well as a pot to transplant into. You will learn specific care needs, as well as light requirements. Soil will be provided. Includes a “plant trade” with instructor and other students.
Mar 22 Starting from Seeds PL9495D
Learn how to start your favorite vegetables, annuals or perennials from seeds. Bring in seeds for a seed swap. Soils and pots will be provided. The seeds can be started in the greenhouse at C-TEC or taken home.
April 26 Color Basket PL9495F
Learn how to plant large hanging baskets with 35 to 40 plants. Extra charge: $10 for special pot, soil and plants.
May 24 Herbs Galore! PL9495G
Come learn about herbs and the uses while planting an herb bowl to take home. Bring in your favorite pot. Soil and herbs will be provided.
Aug 23 Rain Garden & Barrel Basics PL9495P
Got a wet, mucky spot where nothing else will grow? Then the answer may be a rain garden.Learn all about rain gardens, rain barrels and how you can use them in your home landscape.

Take a succulent garden to the next level by planting cutting directly into small topiaries and forms. Great for centerpieces and wall hangings. Addtional charge for form.
Oct 25 Everlastings PL9495R
Bring a little bit of sunshine indoors for winter by using everlastings. Learn how to grow and harvest these perennial favorites. Make a craft using everlastings to take home.
Nov 30 Terrariums PL9495B
Looking for a unique present for that hard to buy for person? Look no further! This workshop will help you plant your favorite glass bowl, terrarium or jar. Plants, soil and charcoal will be provided. Learn the care and maintenance of these miniature gardens.

Plant Workshop Series
Help your child explore the exciting world of plants and spark interest in the natural sciences by participating in C-TEC’s new Mommy & Me Plant Workshop Series.
Meeting the third Wednesday of each month (except Apr & Oct), this series will offer you and your child a chance to not only do something together, but also learn how fascinating plants can be. Each month, the 1 1/2 hour class will focus on a different subject; each class, you and your child will go home with a completed project.

A variety of plants have adaptions that will allow them to grow in the house, from tropicals to succulents. Learn how to propagate those and make more.
Mar 17 Seed Start-Ready, Set, Plant! PL9500G
Learn about these miniature plant factories while getting an early start on the planting season. Seeds will be planted and can be left in the greenhouses at C-TEC and then taken home when ready to plant in May. This will give your garden, vegetable or flower patch, a jump on spring.

Annual plants make a great display of color and are an instant focal point for a porch. These fast growing plants will bring oohs and ahhs as they surprise you each day with bountiful color. Learn about annuals and choose your own plants for your bowl to take home.

Ever smelled fresh basil or chives? What about lavender or mint? Think herbs are just for grown-ups? No way! Bring your nose and explore these flavorful smelling plants while making an herb garden to take home.
